Kick off meeting of the CULPOL project and first stakeholders group meeting

The Jean Monnet project ‘EU Competencies and National Cultural Policies: Critical Dialogues’ (CULPOL) project aims to contribute to the establishment of closer cooperation and networking among Croatian cultural policy researchers, cultural professionals and policy-makers, and to kindle interest in EU related topics among young researchers and cultural civil sector.

In order to stir public interest in the project activities, the CULPOL project Kick off meeting will be held on December 8th, 2016 at 3.30 pm at the premises of the Institute for Development and International Relations. The main stakeholders will be invited for discussion about project work plan and future cooperation activities.

The kick-off meeting will be followed by the first stakeholders group working meeting on the topic ‘European Capital of Culture’ and local cultural policies, organised in partnership with the Ministry of Culture, that will be held on December 9th, 2016 at 10.00 am at Gallery Klovićevi dvori.

CULPOL project website has been launched!

The CULPOL project team has launched a new website of the Jean Monnet project ‘EU Competences and National Cultural Policies: Critical Dialogues/CULPOL’. The website includes all the information about the project background, partners, research activities and events. It will provide all the necessary information about the project to the general and specialized public. The published materials will follow the open access policy and will be available for download and further dissemination, in order to make broader impact of this topic to the wider audience.

CULPOL First Organizational Board Meeting

The first Organizational Board meeting of the Jean Monnet project ‘EU Competences and National Cultural Policies: Critical Dialogues / CULPOL’ was held on Monday 26th September 2016 at the Institute for Development and International Relations, Zagreb. Along the presentation of the concept of the project and formation of the research teams and their main activities, on-going activities such as the project website and logo were also discussed. The meeting was attended by project working team members and IRMO colleagues.

A NEW two year Erasmus+ Jean Monnet Project has been APPROVED

The team of the Institute for Development and International Relations is delighted to inform that the project proposal entitled ‘EU Competences and National Cultural Policies: Critical Dialogues/CULPOL’  submitted for financing to the European Commission under the Erasmus+ Jean Monnet Project programme, has been approved. The project starts on 1st September 2016 and it will last two years (until August 2018). The primary aim of the project is to promote discussion and reflection on the impact of the EU agenda on the Croatian cultural policy. The project will be implemented through a number of working meetings, a two-day international conference on EU soft mechanisms, a round table on the impact of the Digital Single Market strategy on the reforms of Croatian cultural policy and through the publication of research papers in the special issue of the scientific journal Croatian International Relations Review (CIRR). The project will contribute to the establishment of closer cooperation and networking among cultural policy research community, cultural professionals, and policy-makers responsible for the implementation of the different EU instruments and agendas, as well as establishment of a platform for information and communication about the relevant cultural policy processes at the European Union level.
